In today’s world of cut throat competition, the airlines are under lot of pressure to woo customers as an empty flight can burn holes in their revenue and a full flight is a difficult dream to attain.
So if you are willing to go around the world on a shoestring budget you don’t have to be disappointed, in fact there are few airlines who have taken away the fancies from air travel and concentrate on keeping their costs low to provide us with super cheap airplane tickets.
As a customer, in today’s world of information and with the internet at your disposal, we have a plethora of options to choose from. There are numerous websites selling dirt cheap airline tickets to all destinations. The fundamentals on which they work are that these tickets are booked far in advanced from your travel date and cannot be altered with an exception under extreme conditions. Also some airlines have adopted the option of bidding for flights and the customer gets to be the king as one can bid on a price that suits your budget and price and if it is accepted by the airline (in case they have low bookings or a off season, there is high probability it maybe) you get to travel on super cheap airplane tickets.
Also airlines come up with various discount vouchers, which are generally used for brand promotion and are inexpensive in nature.
The travel package which consists of all inclusive tariffs also play a major part in keeping the travel cost low as the airlines have teamed up with the hotel or the resort and since they are guaranteed customers who seek the package, the customer is the king with such super cheap airfare .
You could also compare flight prices on price comparison sites so that you don’t pay more for the same distance and you can get dirt cheap airline tickets. Airlines also try to keep their regular customers happy and retain them by upgrading their class of travel. Just imagine if you get a business class ticket for the price of an economy class; won’t you be elated at the outcome and how cheap it has worked out to be?

Very helpful. Thank You
You have two choices basically. Either you go to a Travel Agent (ie Flight Centre et al) or you buy them online.
If you choose to go through a travel agent (ie Flight Centre), you give them all the details… for example, the airline you want to fly with, or the dates and/or times that you want to depart or arrive. The agent then "searches" (via computer) for a service that meets your requirements. You then pay the agent… usually by credit card or electronic transfer.
Alternatively, you can go online (either to the airline directly or to a bureau such as flightcentre.com). You then make your selections. You then punch in your credit card details to pay for your "ticket".
Nowadays though, you rarely see physical airline tickets. Most people travel on eTickets. All you get are your boarding pass or "confirmation"; and when you check-in, you present your boarding pass/confirmation and photo ID/passport to get on the plane.
to bad insane gas prices are making cheap tickets hard to find, 2 years ago i could buy a round trip ticket from Dallas to Seoul Korea or Tokyo for 800ish bucks, now its doubled in that time
Airline pricing is very complex and tied into supply and demand. If there are few airlines that fly from Little Rock to Minneapolis, the pricing will be high. In a more competitive situation, with a lot of air line carriers on a route (such as to London), pricing will be lower.
There's also a lower per passenger cost on the larger planes used for trans-Atlantic flights.
Air fare to Europe in October and November and mid-December is very low — but the price of $350 for a round-trip ticket to London probably doesn't include the airport fees and government taxes. On London flights, these are over $300 per ticket.
Try pricing your flight with nearby airports to find a "special sale" with a regional carrier.
Good luck finding your cheap air line tickets!
there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely give you the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it's very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online… otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.
Off season tickets are generally cheaper. Off days like Tuesdays are also cheaper. Sometimes buying a ticket too far in advance can actually work against you. One of the services I use is by Travelocity. It is called Farewatcher Plus. With this service you can set it to alert you when the designated cities you are interested in have a change in fares. You set the amounts. So say for instance you want to know when a fare changes by $50–you will get an email alert letting you know.
This is a great service for two reasons- one it helps you get an idea, over a period of time, what the normal fares are. Then when there is a deal, you will know it is really a deal and you can jump on it. And you do have to act fast when you get the alert because the number of seats is limited for that special fare.
The other way to save is their Last Minute deals. If you wit til the very last week, sometimes you can get great last minute deals if things are slow.
I set my alert for $25 and have an alert set for 6 different airports I frequent. It has been a great service for five years now. Give it a try. i hope this helps.
